Fox Valley Orthopedics

Algonquin l Barrington l Elgin l Geneva l Yorkville

Fox Valley Orthopedics (FVO) has grown from a modest practice of two physicians to a team that now provides a continuum of musculoskeletal care in the diagnostic and comprehensive treatment of acute or chronic orthopedic conditions or injuries. Whether treating fractures and broken bones or relieving joint pain, clinicians at FVO offer services from non-invasive treatments to advanced surgical solutions for a seamless delivery of care.

Founded in the spring of 1974 by Dr. Eugene Wittenstrom and Dr. Merle Denker, FVO was built on the foundation of providing unparalleled orthopedic care within the community. Now, five decades later, physicians and staff at FVO continue to honor that commitment by offering a diverse array of orthopedic specialties, including foot and ankle, hand and wrist, joint replacement, spine, sports medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation/pain management, rheumatology and internal medicine/weight loss management.

As FVO celebrates its 50th anniversary, physicians and staff commemorate its past while looking toward the future. FVO recently opened its eighth location, in Yorkville, which includes physicians, physical therapy and OrthoFirst immediate care. Community residents can now get comprehensive orthopedic care in any of FVO’s locations, including Algonquin, Barrington, Elgin, Geneva and Yorkville.

This year also marked the arrival of the Siemens Magnetom Free.Max MRI: the world’s most advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners on the market today. Its 80 cm bore system sets a new paradigm in patient comfort while also providing high-resolution images for better diagnostics and improved outcomes.
To broaden its continuum of care, FVO continues to offer its patients:

  • Physical and Occupational Therapy to build muscles, improve range of motion and restore function. FVO opened new locations in Huntley, Aurora and Yorkville this past year, for a total of 10 locations throughout the Fox Valley area.
  • OrthoFirst Orthopedic Urgent Care is for acute injuries such as fractures, broken bones, muscle/joint pain, sprains and dislocations that need immediate medical attention. Specialists are available in Geneva, Elgin, Barrington and Yorkville.
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art facility that offers convenient, outpatient care that is less expensive than a hospital. The entire surgical team – from physicians, registered nurses and technicians to anesthesiologists – are orthopedic specialists who offer quality of care for optimal recovery.
  • Workers’ Compensation services are available, including independent medical examinations and specialist coordination.

Fox Valley Orthopedics is a state-of-the-art, state-licensed facility and is accredited by the AAAHC – Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Rockford Nephrology Associates

612 Roxbury Road, Rockford | p: (815) 227-8300 // f: (855) 243-0207 |

Nephrology is the medical specialty which diagnoses and treats diseases of the kidneys. Kidney disease affects one in seven people (approximately 37 million) in the United States and may result from causes such as diabetes, hypertension, polycystic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, or obstructions of the urinary tract.

The most well-known function of the kidneys is to form urine containing waste from the body, which is the filtration function. Kidneys are also responsible for certain hormone secretion, which can affect the production of red blood cells and promote absorption of calcium. Kidneys also help with fluid and acid-base balance, blood pressure control and glucose production. Therefore, anemia, high blood pressure, Vitamin D deficiency, and fluid and electrolyte imbalances are also monitored and treated by the nephrology team.

At Rockford Nephrology Associates, our board-certified nephrologists and nurse practitioners provide consultative services and follow-up visits which, along with lab and radiology testing, help to diagnose kidney disease and determine the best-quality treatment options. Education is key to understanding the disease and for preparing to make treatment choices at each stage.
