Stonedrift Spa: Eagle Ridge Resort’s Relaxation Destination

The newly expanded spa at this Galena-area resort has even more to offer in its new space. There’s a good reason why people make the drive to spend a day in luxuriation.

Spa manager Abbigale Porter played an integral role in the creation of Stonedrift Spa, the newest offering at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena.

Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa has always been a popular destination in Galena for anyone looking for rest and relaxation. Now, with the opening of the resort’s newly imagined and hotly anticipated Stonedrift Spa, visitors have another reason to get excited, albeit in a tranquil way. The spa’s new standalone location has grown, both in size and offerings, with more than 12,000 square feet of space, luxurious treatment suites and an ever-expanding menu of signature treatments and cutting-edge therapies.

“We just moved over to the new building on Halloween weekend,” says Abbigale Porter, spa manager. “Now we have triple the space.”

The new space boasts several new amenities, including a full-service barbershop with straight razor shaves and haircuts for male clients.

“It pairs well with the golf course,” says Porter. “We’re trying to appeal to the men, and it’s been going well so far. In the past we’ve been all about the ladies.”

With Stonedrift Spa, Eagle Ridge has expanded its spa space from 3,500 square feet to more than 12,000 square feet. New amenities include hair salons for men and women in addition to 13 private treatment rooms.

The ladies have not been forgotten, however. The spa’s new hair salon appeals to resort guests and residents with properties around Eagle Ridge.

“We have a lot of property owners here, in the Galena Territory, whom we wanted to cater more toward,” says Porter. “We have really great guests on the weekends, but we wanted to be better rounded for clients who live here. Now, we’re their one-stop shop. We have some awesome regulars.”

Visitors to the spa will find everything they need for complete relaxation and rejuvenation of body, mind and spirit. Highly skilled and licensed therapists are on hand to provide a full menu of massages, nail treatments, body exfoliations and wraps, relaxation facials, Hydrafacials, Halotherapy salt experiences, and an ever-expanding spectrum of state-of-the-art signature treatments and services for individuals, couples, wedding parties, moms-to-be, oncology patients or corporate retreats.

Porter recommends regularly checking the Stonedrift Spa section at eagleridge.com to stay on top of new products and services, like the yoga studio, which is still undergoing a few finishing touches.

“We’re in the works of preparing our menu for the new year,” she says. “We’ll be adding a pro-sleep massage, where you’ll end the service with a 15-minute nap.”

Before or after services, clients are welcome to unwind in a relaxation room or hot tub area. There’s also a gathering space for wedding parties or retreats.

For a completely stress-free experience, Porter recommends making a reservation before visiting, particularly on weekends.

“Weekends are booking about a month in advance at the moment,” says Porter.

After a thoroughly relaxing treatment, clients will want to visit the retail shop, where they’ll find a variety of skincare products, massage oils, CBD products and massage devices.

“We’re pretty particular about what we carry,” Porter says. “Eagle Ridge is serious about being sustainable, so our retail products have to reflect that in some way.”

In keeping with Eagle Ridge’s dedication to sustainability, one of the last anticipated additions to Stonedrift Spa is solar panels.

“The spa will be completely solar, which is very cool,” says Porter.
