From its launch, this wealth management firm has been focused on supporting its community. After seven years, these advisors and their clients are working together to help those in need.
Giving back to the community while supporting causes that make a difference has been a passion of Professional Wealth Advisors LLC from its beginning. When the financial advising and wealth management firm was established in 2015 by partners Stephen Potts and Peter Wilmot, the group focused on guiding clients toward accomplishing the things in life that are truly important to them.
Whether it’s paying for children’s college, taking annual vacations, or the opportunity to enjoy a favorite hobby in retirement, Professional Wealth Advisors (PWA) made it a mission to help implement each client’s life plan. For many clients, and the PWA team itself, philanthropy is an important part of life’s plan.
Built into the PWA culture is a deliberate emphasis on giving back to the community and supporting worthy causes – not just giving from PWA, but encouraging clients and their families to participate in philanthropic events. The result has been a special gift for PWA and its clients as they come together to help others.
“A special bond is forged when you work with others to help make a difference,” says Potts. “The joy in the faces of both parties creates a memory that lasts.”
Wealth means more than money. This idea expresses that, at PWA, wealth is about people, passion and financial freedom. The mission of PWA has resonated with advisors and clients alike. With PWA’s client-centric focus, its team has built product and service offerings to fully support the financial needs of each client. The PWA advisors and staff are dedicated to providing personalized attention and exceptional service as they work with clients. The firm offers the benefit of in-house accounting, administration departments and access to legal professionals as additional resources.
In recent years, the firm has expanded beyond its main headquarters in Downers Grove to locations in Crystal Lake and Hoffman Estates, along with ancillary offices throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. In 2021, PWA merged with HighPoint Planning Partners, an independent registered investment advisor. With this merger, the firm collectively manages more than $10 billion in client assets, $7 billion of which were brokerage assets held at LPL Financial as of Dec. 31, 2021.
With the continued growth of PWA, the firm has kept true to its passion of philanthropic efforts and prioritized support of the community. Along with ongoing donations to various charities, the PWA team holds quarterly PWA Giveback events. This year, the PWA team has volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, Habitat for Humanity, Together We Rise, and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. PWA hosted its first client giveback event at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, where both clients and PWA staff joined to help those in need.
PWA’s managing partners – Stephen Potts, Peter Wilmot, Craig Ibrahim and Martin Campbell – bring decades of experience in the financial services industry.
“Our mission is to support our clientele in a manner that instills confidence, while providing white-glove customer service and making each client feel like family,” says Potts.
Sharing their joy with many giveback events for staff and clients, the PWA leadership demonstrates the value of investing in community and causes. “It’s important to us that we promote a culture of giving back to the communities around us,” says Ibrahim. “It coincides with our mission, values and promise to our advisors, staff and clients.”
