This holiday season, forego the crowded, stale shopping mall in favor of an experience worth remembering. We’re talking about a day on the Metra, which runs through most of our region’s major cities on its way toward downtown Chicago, and which offers an $8 weekend pass with unlimited rides.

Its platforms are located in the hearts of our downtown business districts, within easy walking distance of many a homegrown store or restaurant. Because trains pass through every hour or so, you have plenty of time to treasure hunt before heading toward your next destination.

Union Pacific Northwest Line
